September 20th: Build a Bird’s Nest
Some birds “glue” their nests together, and then they put soft things inside of them. Some nests are shaped like cups and other nests are like platforms. What would your nest look like if you were a bird? Come and learn more about nests and build one of your own.
October 11th: Tiny Towns
Join in the fun of designing a tiny town with paper! Whether the city is inspired by Durham, or creatively invented, Junior Builders will exercise folding and pattern making skills. Builders may choose to work together or on their own.
October 25th: Build a Spider Web
If you were a spider, what would your web look like? Come find out! Choose from a variety of materials and practice your web-building skills.
November 15th: Build a Tee-Pee or Wigwam
Join us as we learn about the difference between tee-pee’s and wigwams and their history, and then build a small version of one. Junior Builders will select from materials, such as wooden pieces, card board, yarn, fabric, and more. Templates will be provided, and creativity is encouraged!
November 22nd: Lego Challenge
Take a spin on our Lego Challenge wheel and put your building skills to the test! Junior Builders may work together or on their own.
December 6th:Design and Build an Igloo
Are you in a wintery, cold weather mood? Join us as we learn about igloos then design and build our own.
